Helloooo and happy Friday! Today I’ve got for you one new recipe, one updated one, and some last minute Easter baking inspiration in case you still need some. :)
tiramisu cinnamon rolls
Today we’re combining two delicious things: tiramisu and cinnamon rolls. These cinnamon rolls are *soooooooo* light and fluffy because they’re made with a milk bread dough.
If you’re not aware of milk bread, it’s a type of dough that’s made with the tangzhong method. The tangzhong method involves heating a lot of milk with a little bit of flour, which turns into a thick slurry that gets added in to the dough. This method allows the dough to hold a lot more moisture than it usually would be able to hold, resulting in a lighter, fluffier dough that stays fresher for longer.
These rolls use the tangzhong method and also are made with a coffee-infused milk, filled with a brown sugar cinnamon coffee filling, and are topped with a super delicious mascarpone frosting and a dusting of cocoa powder. If you’d like a little bit of that alcoholic flavor, add a touch of rum extract to the frosting!
brown butter chocolate chip scones
These were already on the blog but they got a little bit of a makeover. They’re made with brown butter in the dough and in the icing for the perfect toasty brown butter flavor in every bite. They’re also super moist (we don’t allow dry scones on this blog) and loaded with mini chocolate chips.
Scones are so delicious and super underrated - they’re super easy to make, easy to make ahead of time and bake them off whenever you want them, and are the perfect brunch treat to share over a cup of coffee or tea.
