happy friday! here’s what’s new on fbb this week ☺︎
salted hazelnut banoffee pie

This is the new recipe of the week and it’s super easy & super delicious. If you’re not familiar with banoffee pie, it’s an English dessert that’s made with dulce de leche, bananas & whipped cream. No baking is required for the filling but you do need to bake the crust for a short time. There are plenty of regular delicious banoffee pies on the internet already, so I decided to change it up a bit and make a salted hazelnut banoffee pie - which is made with a salted hazelnut shortbread crust, salted dulce de leche, bananas & a vanilla bean whipped cream. Banoffee pie is inherently super sweet, so adding in some salt helps to cut some of that sweetness and also enhances all the delicious hazelnut & caramel flavors.
small batch mocha muffins

These are one of my favorite muffins on the blog, because I love espresso and these are *loaded* with espresso. They start out with a super moist and fluffy espresso muffin batter that’s loaded with mini chocolate chips, and then they’re topped with an espresso brown sugar streusel and, of course, a drizzle of espresso glaze. These just got a little picture update on the blog along with a tiny recipe update since I’ve fine-tuned my base muffin recipe since originally posting these ones. They’re super delish & best enjoyed with a tall iced latte.
pistachio oatmeal fudge bars

These are my pistachio oatmeal fudge bars (previously known as brown butter pistachio fudge bars.) They’re made with a super soft & slightly chewy brown butter pistachio oatmeal cookie that’s stuffed with a thick layer of fudge. This got a small batch update on the blog, so now it yields one loaf pan (or 8 small squares) instead of a square pan (or 16 small squares.) They’re super delish, super easy to make aaaand they’re ridiculously chocolatey.
..aaand that’s all for this week! You can find the banoffee pie recipe below or on my blog. Thank you so much for reading and following along!
happy baking!
