orange monkey bread muffins
january's second sub exclusive
Hello hello! ☺︎ I am super excited to share this recipe with you today. It’s currently citrus szn which is perfect because citrus desserts are truly the perfect pick-me-up for these ridiculously cold and gloomy winter days.
These are my orange monkey bread muffins. If you haven’t heard of monkey bread, the most standard, easy version of it is made by cutting up biscuit dough, coating it in sugar and cinnamon, pouring a little caramel sauce over it, then baking it all together in a bundt pan. But of course, over here we’re gonna do a little something different.
We’ve got homemade brioche dough that’s super soft, rich, and fluffy, a coating of sugar and a ton of orange zest, and an orange brown sugar sauce. Plus, these are baked as little individual muffins because this is a smaller batch corner of the internet so there’s no time for bundt pans. The orange sugar becomes nice and crunchy when baked so you get crunchy and soft dough balls that are coated in caramel, with a ton of orange flavor of course. They’re super delish and easy to make, they just require a little bit of time and love. So let’s get into it! ☺︎
