happy saturday! here’s what’s new (& updated) on fresh bean bakery this week (spoiler: it’s a LOT of cookies, for cookiemas!)
muddy buddy cookies
These are new on the blog this week! They’re inspired by Crumbl’s muddy buddy cookies. Nowww I’ve never had crumbl cookies but I think it might be safe to say that these cookies are better than those mass-produced ones (sorry.)
If you’ve never heard of a muddy buddy it might sound a little wacky, but muddy buddies are a little treat made by mixing chex cereal, peanut butter, chocolate, and peanut butter. I used to make my own but it turns out now Chex has their own pre-made version, so you can just get those to make the work-load on these a bit easier :)
They’re made with a brown butter peanut butter cookie that’s super soft, piled high with ganache, and garnished with some muddy buddies.
brownie gingerbread chocolate chip cookies
This is another new cookie on the blog this week, and it’s my holiday version of my brookie cookies. They’re made with a perfectly spiced brown butter gingerbread chocolate chip cookie that’s marbled with a fudge brownie cookie. And just a sidenote, these cookies are *huge*, so you can definitely use less dough in each cookie to make more of them if desired.
Buuuut anyway, gingerbread might be my favorite holiday flavor and I think (/hope) you’ll enjoy these cookies as much as I do.
banana bread chocolate chip cookies
These just got a little picture update on the blog, because as you may know by now, I can’t help but photograph everything in the sun when the sun is out. They’re made with brown butter (surprise surprise), banana in place of the egg, oats, and pools of melty chocolate.
gingerbread sandwich cookies
These got a little picture update on the blog and an updated filling. They used to be filled with an ermine frosting, which, don’t get me wrong - was delicious. However, I just feel like cream cheese frosting & gingerbread go too well together, which is exactly why these are now filled with a cream cheese frosting.
These gingerbread sandwich cookies are also soft, perfectly spiced, and super easy to throw together.
melting snowman cookies
These got a *huge* update on the blog, and by that, I mean that they got a whole recipe overhaul. I always thought they were super cute but they were a little lacking and were more for show than flavor. Buuut now they’re for show and flavor! They’re now made with a chai-infused and chai-spiced brown butter cookie and they’re topped off with a vanilla cream cheese frosting, along with little chocolate chips and reeses for the eyes, nose, and hat.
..aaand that’s all for this week! Thank you so much for reading and following along!
happy baking!
